Four mid-range and entry-level Lumia smartphones leaked a few months ago, but rumor has it that Microsoft canned all but one of them.

Today, information about one of the Lumia handsets, which was believed to have been canceled by Microsoft when the company decided to streamline its smartphone business, emerged once again.

The folks over at German blog WinFuture.de have spotted what appears to be the affordable Lumia 550 smartphone at a Swiss retailer. Although this is most likely a placeholder, at least it proves the device is real and that Microsoft might eventually announce its availability at some point.

The smartphone is tagged with a $120 price, which is quite normal considering its specs. In fact, the Lumia 550 might be priced even lower if Microsoft decides to launch it.

We already know quite a lot about the Lumia 550, since this seems to be the market name for the Nokia RM-1127 and RM-1128 models that leaked at GFXBench and Zauba months ago.

It might come in two versions: single SIM and dual-SIM

According to these listings, Microsoft's Lumia 550 should sport a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that features an unknown resolution. There's a high chance that this could pack a HD (720p) screen, but the information hasn't been confirmed yet.

The smartphone will be equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor possibly clocked at 1.1GHz or 1.2GHz. On top of that, the Lumia 550 will pack 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Last but not least, Microsoft Lumia 550 comes preloaded with the Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box and packs a 5-megapixel camera on the back, along with a modest 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

It should also offer 4G LTE support, along with other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS.

If Lumia 550 hasn't been canceled by Microsoft yet, then there's a high chance that the Redmond-based company will make it official on October 6.
