General Mobile, the US-based company that operates in many countries, has just announced the upcoming availability of its latest Android One smartphone, the GM6.

According to the company, the General Mobile GM6 will be first launched in Turkey, but we can safely assume other markets will get it soon afterwards. Unfortunately, no details about the phone's price have been unveiled, but there's no doubt that this will be an affordable handset.

The GM6 is far from being impressive spec-wise, but that's not even intended. General Mobile improved a little bit on the previous Android One phones it launched in the past, but that doesn't necessarily mean that customers will get it at a higher price.

As expected, General Mobile's GM6 will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box. It will offer a pure Android experience, along with Google Assistant and all the other apps and services provided by the search giant.

What to expect from the GM6

Since General Mobile has already revealed information about its newly announced GM6, we're now in the position to tell you what you should expect if you decide to go for this Android One smartphone when it launches on the market.

First of all, the phone sports a 5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution, which isn't unusual for a budget-friendly handset. Sadly, General Mobile decided to go with a MediaTek MT6737 chipset instead of choosing a Qualcomm SoC.

The good news is the GM6 packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory, which is more than enough for a mid-range handset. On the back, the phone features a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, while in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash.

General Mobile has also confirmed the GM6 will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, so autonomy shouldn't be a problem for the Android One handset. It remains to be seen whether or not the GM6 will make its debut in countries other than Turkey in the coming months.
