Also, the phone will pack Google Assistant, instead of Alexa

More details about LG's upcoming flagship smartphone have just surfaced online. They paint a rather nice picture for LG fans, as the G6 will definitely ditch the modular design in favor of a more compact, stylish form factor.

This means that compromises must be made, and it looks like the most important one for some is the non-removable battery inside the G6. Unlike the previous flagship model, LG G6 won't pack a replaceable battery.

LG has been known for offering this specific feature to its customers, but the G6 marks the beginning of a new strategy for the South Korean company. The flagship will feature a waterproof design, which makes it very difficult to include a removable battery as well.

Hardware-wise, if you've read our previous report about the phone's first leaked photo, then you already know that the LG G6 won't be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor.

Both Google Assistant and Alexa will make it to LG smartphones

CNET has confirmed with sources close to the matter that LG has decided to go with the Snapdragon 821 CPU instead, since the Snapdragon 835 is out of reach until after April.

Another interesting new feature that will be part of the LG G6 since the beginning is Google Assistant. It looks like LG managed to convince Google to allow it to put its digital assistant inside the flagship, so the backup plan that will see Amazon's Alexa added to the G6's software won't be used anymore.

However, sources close to the matter claim LG and Amazon have a strong relationship and that we will definitely see Alexa digital assistant on some smartphones launched by the South Korean company later this year.

LG has already confirmed an MWC 2017 press conference for February 26 where we believe the G6 will be officially unveiled. We're also expecting the smartphone to go on sale sometime in March.
