The Mate 9 is the next big thing happening in the smartphone industry. Huawei has confirmed it will launch its new flagship smartphone on November 3, so we're only a few days away from the official reveal of the Mate 9.

But that's the best time to get hot info on the upcoming phone, which, even though not yet confirmed, could be accurate. Since the first rumors about the Huawei Mate 9 hit the internet, many sources claimed the smartphone would pack a curved display.

However, the latest press render proves that the Mate 9 will actually sport a flat panel. Still, those who were hoping for a curved display shouldn't be disappointed yet, since Huawei might announce two Mate 9 variants. The Pro model might come with such a display, if any of the previous rumors were accurate.

In the meantime, the newly leaked press image came with a few more details about the Huawei Mate 9. For example, the phablet will certainly ship with Android 7.0 Nougat on board. If you've been following our news about the Mate 9, then you already know the flagship will pack a dual-camera setup on the back.

Leica dual-camera setup: 20MP + 12MP sensors

Featuring Leica lens, the setup will include a 20-megapixel camera, while the other camera on the back is supposed to feature a 12-megapixel sensor. The flat panel is quite large at 5.9 inches, but we're still waiting to see whether Huawei adds a full HD (1080p) panel or decides to go for a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) display instead.

Other than that, we already know the Huawei Mate 9 should pack a powerful HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor under the hood, along with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage.

While the smartphone will be officially unveiled on November 3, the Mate 9 might not be available until later this month. Rumor has it that Huawei put a $1,300 price tag on the Mate 9, which makes it one of the most expensive flagships soon to be available on the market.
