The new iLaunch application can easily emulate the iPhone interface

More and more people are interested in emulating the "pimpish" interface of the highly-acclaimed iPhone. Most of them, the resourceful ones, manage to duplicate almost perfectly some the features the iPhone has and are sharing them on the Internet - for FREE. This time, we have a shareware version of the iPhone application launcher as well as the iPhone screen locking feature. The developer used Visual Studio.Net and the compact framework, and assures us that this is not in any way an iPhone clone interface - and it really isn't.

The application looks nice, costs about 10 USD and a demo version can be downloaded from here. It features lock screen function, nicely done icons, which can be used to start commonly used programs with the touch of your finger, and there are also buttons for the camera and for making calls.

As you can see from the little movie demo posted on YouTube, the iLaunch can do some of the things the iPhone does, a lot less than that, but also it can do a little bit more. As the developer stated, he could've easily done a fully iPhone clone interface compatible with almost any Pocket PC, but Apple's rights over the device should and must be respected, so he created iLaunch instead.

It seems that every picture used in the program is different than those used in the iPhone. The Windows Vista-like icons are used to open most common applications such as Pocket Outlook, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, Pocket Excel and Pocket Word and Skype. iLaunch can automatically detect if Skype and Google Maps are installed on your device, and prompt you to download it, if you don't have it installed.

It is clearly NOT the iPhone, it doesn't have the animation that the iPhone has or other specific features. But if you can't buy the real thing, you can surely spend 10 bucks for something that reminds you of the Apple's beauty.
