KACE, a leading Systems Management Appliance company, has announced today that its award-winning KBOX iPhone Management Module is now available for iPhone enterprise users. The KBOX module is an appliance-based systems management solution that can be used to centrally deploy, manage, and track the iPhones throughout the enterprise, as well as offer support for the management of multiple configuration profiles and tools to apply them based on enterprise policies.

KACE's appliance-based approach to managing desktops, laptops and servers reportedly saves time and money for professionals and their organizations dealing with systems management. The KBOX appliance generally installs in one day, and is cheaper to deploy compared to competitive solutions, KACE says.

“We are seeing tremendous growth of iPhone usage in the workforce, and once again KACE is the first to extend innovative technology to allow our customers to fully embrace the latest in mobile technology,” Marty Kacin, CTO and co-founder of KACE, argues.

“As the iPhone continues to be the ‘go to’ smart phone for businesses, it’s important for IT organizations to be able to efficiently deploy, track, and manage the mobile devices, just as they would any other critical computing platform. With the industry’s first iPhone management solution, KACE offers its customers the ability to manage all devices, from PCs and servers, to laptops and handheld devices, through a single integrated appliance.”

Go-Mobiles lists dozens of features to be had with KACE's appliance-based solution for managing desktops, including,

iPhone Configuration Profile Management; Assigning profiles to user groups, for example by function or geography; Distribution of profiles by e-mail; Profile downloads available from KBOX user portal; iPhone user access to the KBOX user portal; iPhone Asset Information, Tracking and Reporting; Tracks individual iPhone information; Tracks number of iPhone users; Tracks iPhone equipment versions; Tracks assigned serial numbers, including IMEI & ICCID identifiers; Monitors installed applications; Extensible to allow access to corresponding contracts; Tracks individual plans and renewal dates; Keeps asset data current via scheduled iPhone Kscript refresh; Delivers e-mails alerts based on changes in the asset fields; Tracks related dependencies, i.e. carrier contracts and associated renewal dates.
