Now that Huawei Mate 9 has been officially unveiled, we can compare it to other flagship smartphones already available on the market. However, since the Chinese company announced not one, but two Mate 9 models, we thought it would be better to provide our readers with a more in-depth look at the differences between the two phones.

Many of you probably know that Huawei has announced the Mate 9, its flagship smartphone until next year. Along with the phablet, the Chinese handset maker unveiled the Porsche Design Mate 9, a premium smartphone that packs slightly better features, but is offered for double the price of the standard model.

Speaking of which, Huawei has confirmed that the Mate 9 will sell for €699 in Europe, while the Porsche Design model will cost no less than €1,395. Since it's a premium smartphone, we can accept that it should be priced so much higher in comparison with the standard model.

Still, the Porsche Design Mate 9 doesn't just offer that premium feeling that expensive smartphones usually offer, it also comes with some enhanced specs.

For example, the premium version boasts a 5.5-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, whereas the basic model comes with a larger 5.9-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Also, the Porsche Design model packs no less than 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Mate 9 comes with “only” 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. There are other differences between the two Mate 9 models, but the price and the hardware are the most important.

We doubt anyone would need more storage for a phone that comes with 256GB of internal memory, but in case you do, then the Porsche Design is not the device you're looking for.

Huawei has confirmed that the Porsche Design Mate 9 does not come with microSD card for memory expansion. On the other hand, the Mate 9's storage is expandable, though it uses the second SIM slot.

We've put the specs sheets of the two smartphones side-by-side, so you can decide which one suits you better, although we believe that not many will be able to afford the Porsche Design model.
