14 DAY TRIAL // In just a few weeks, HTC will announce its next flagship smartphone and in anticipation of the event, the company released a video to highlight one of the phone’s main features. HTC U 11’s main selling point will be the Edge Sense feature.
HTC U 11 will be unveiled on May 16 at 2pm local hour in Taipei, 2am New York and 7am London, as the video reveals. The phone’s main feature will be the Edge Sense tool that allows users to gently squeeze the side of the smartphone and perform various actions.
The phone’s touch-sensitive edges will have the capacity to interpret various gestures into actions, but the video doesn’t really reveal more than that. Still, HTC lets us get a peak of the upcoming device, specifically the phone’s curved corners.

That being said, HTC U 11 could come in a deep reflective blue color, similar to HTC U Ultra, which wouldn’t be surprising considering that the two phones are part of the same series. Previously leaked information about the new phone reveals that HTC U 11 will be available in a number of colors, including white, black, blue, red and silver. However, availability depends on the market and some colors might not be available in specific countries.
Regarding internal components, the flagship smartphone will run Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 platform, which explains why the device wasn’t announced together with HTC U and HTC U Ultra. Aside from this, it could have a 5.5-inch QHD display and 64GB of internal storage with the option to expand to more using a microSD card.
RAM capacity is said to reach 4GB and a 12MP camera lens could be located on the back, while a 16MP selfie shooter might be featured in the front. HTC U 11 is also expected to incorporate a massive 4,000mAh battery and feature the latest Bluetooth 5.0 module. Sadly, we’ll have to wait for May 16 to receive information about pricing and availability.
