HTC is apparently working on a new smartphone to introduce to the market, as the HTC 2PYR1XX has just received Bluetooth certification. The model number is thought to be associated to the upcoming HTC One X10, a successor to the X9 released last year.
Bluetooth SIG listings don’t reveal much about the specs of devices that receive certification, and as a result, not much is known about the supposed HTC One X10. The code number itself suggests that the smartphone might be the successor to the X9. As such, the number 1 could be equal to the spelled out word One, while the X is the Roman numeral for 10. However, that’s just speculation at this point.
HTC is expected to host an event on January 12, which means that this smartphone might actually be announced then. The event is scheduled several days after the CES 2017 ends, and the smartphone maker could be preparing to announce some really exciting new devices, including the X10.
HTC One X10 could have 3GB of RAM and a 13MP rear camera
Rumors regarding the upcoming mid-range smartphone point towards a 5.5-inch full HD display and a 13MP rear camera. The phone could also have 3GB of RAM and incorporate the Helio P10 SoC. The HTC One X9 released last year had similar specs, RAM capacity and rear camera were the same, while the phone came with a MediaTek Helio X10 processor and 32GB of internal memory.
Moreover, the rear camera came with autofocus, optical image stabilization, LED flash and 4k recording, while the UltraPixel secondary camera in the front had a 5MP capacity.
The phone drew power from a 3,000mAh battery and had a 5.5-inch full HD display, as well as HTC BoomSound speakers in the front. What it did lack was a fingerprint scanner, but maybe HTC will decide to include one on its successor.
