Shortly after introducing no less than four Desire series smartphones in the United States, HTC announced that at least one of them, the Desire 626s, will be available in Canada as well.

HTC Desire 626s will be available in Canada sometime this month, MobileSyrup reports. The smartphone will go on sale at several, more or less major, carriers in the country, including Bell, Virgin Mobile, Videotron and Wind Mobile.

Even though HTC Canada did not disclose any details on Desire 626s' pricing options, we do know that the smartphone will be available at T-Mobile USA for only $170, so we expect Canadian customers to be able to get it for around the same amount.

We will have more details on price tag as soon as Canadian carriers announce when they will start getting pre-orders for the Desire 626s and/or when it will be available for purchase.

As for specs, HTC Desire 626s is a pure mid-ranger that will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box with HTC Sense 7 UI on top.

No LTE support for this one

Hardware-wise, the smartphone is totally unimpressive, as HTC included a modest 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor inside, which is complemented by an Adreno 304 graphics processing unit, 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

The good news is HTC Desire 626s comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Furthermore, the smartphone has been confirmed to sport a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

On the back, the device features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera.

The Desire 626s does not feature 4G LTE support, so users will be left with 3G connectivity, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.
