Nintendo Wii Japanese launch

You know that the Nintendo Wii just launched in Japan and bloggers have already started to comment and give us information about how things went down. One particular blog caught my eye, one that was comparing some Wii and PS3 launch photos.

From what those pictures reveal, the Nintendo Wii was bought by hot Japanese girls while the PS3 was purchased by fat disgusting guys. I'm not saying that all those who buy a PS3 are fat and disgusting, but given the fact that the PS3 weighs 10 ten times more than the Wii, you might need some muscles to carry it home.

So, if we are to judge solely on this aspect, I guess it's safe to say that the Nintendo Wii is more suitable for girls. Even if the Wii launch was not nearly as exciting as the PS3 one, it was certainly better looking. Reading a material on the Japanese Wii launch on 1up.com, I was amazed to see that they report that the Wii campers seemed to want to keep the consoles for themselves unlike PS3 campers who, the instant they got their hands on a console, went to eBay and auctioned them.

Japanese gamers might consider themselves to be lucky as the 16 games launched with the system in Japan, 11 of which are not yet available in the States. The list goes like this: Odoru Made in Wario (US version-Wario Ware: Smooth Moves), Hajimete no Wii (Wii Play), Swing Golf Pangya (Super Swing Golf), Necro-Nesia, Crayon Schinchan, Ennichi no Tatsujin, SD GundamL SCAD HAMMERS, Super Castlevania IV, Zelda: A Link to the Past and Gunstar Heroes.
