Spanish company Funker has just announced its first smartphone powered by Windows 10 Mobile is now available for purchase in Spain.

The new smartphone is called W5.5 Pro and belongs to the mid-range tier. Customers who wish to purchase the new W5.5 Pro can do so via Funker's online store for just €240, WindowsCentral reports.

As the name suggests, Funker's mid-range smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

Design-wise, the W5.5 Pro looks very pretty thanks to its thin, candybar form factor. The smartphone measures 154.8 x 78.6 x 6.9mm and weighs only 135g (battery included), so it's very light as well.

Funker W5.5 Pro comes equipped with a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

At the back, Funker added the 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel shutter for selfies and video calls.

LTE support and 2,600 mAh battery

Speaking of which, the W5.5 Pro offers 4G LTE support, but there's no mention of dual-SIM features so we must assume it doesn't come with one.

Other connectivity options confirmed by Funker include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support. Funker W5.5 Pro will be powered by a 2,600 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

The W5.5 Pro is available for pre-booking from January 30, but it's unclear when exactly customers will receive their smartphones if they order the device today.

Also, keep in mind that the Funker mid-range Windows Phone handset is only available in Spain. It's unlikely that this one will go on sale in other European countries, but it’s not impossible.

Interestingly enough, the W5.5 Pro will directly compete with Microsoft's yet unannounced Lumia 650 smartphone. Funker's handset seems to be slightly better geared if we are to believe the latest rumors on Lumia 650's specs sheet.

The W5.5 Pro also costs less than the pre-order prices for which some UK retailers listed the Lumia 650, but those might be cut when Microsoft announces its smartphone.
