The big April update for Destiny is set to arrive on April 12, and the development team at Bungie is offering more details about the changes that are coming to the social shooter, with a new video based on this week's stream talking about the new rewards that gamers will be able to pick up and use to enhance their Guardian.

There are both new armor and new weapons that players can pick up, and the addition of Chroma means that it is easier to tweak them in terms of color to suit any kind of style or preference.

Sterling Treasure is also added to Destiny to offer access to a wide variety of rewards, with three of them featured every week, for playing Crucible matches, battling through level 41 Prison of Elders, and visiting the Postmaster.

The Eververse Trading Company also offers more Sterling Treasure boxes for those who want them, and there are also new emotes that Guardians can use.

The Taken Sword is also coming to Destiny to satisfy those players who are looking for an interesting weapon that can be used up close.

The official site also offers a glimpse into the way various types of Chroma can be used, revealing the effects it can have on armor like Spektar, Spektar Heliopause, Spektar Kallipolis, Spektar Infinite, and Desolate.

Bungie adds, "You can mix and match armor pieces and Chroma materials to create a unique look that’s the perfect complement to your sparkling personality. Report to the Reef in a post-April-Update world to begin adding to your collection, and let you inner light shine through."

Destiny is also bringing back Year One weapons

According to the team, they will not be offered via Legendary Engrams, but through rewards packages for Vanguard and Crucible, and reputation gains are boosted for strikes, the Prison of Elders, and Crucible.

The coming tools of destruction are: The Devil You Know, Shadow Price, LDR 5001, Badger CCL, The Comedian, THE SWARM, Y-09 Longbow Synthesis, Grim Citizen III, Two to the Morgue, Zombie, Apocalypse WF47, and The Saterienne Rapier.

Bungie plans to offer a look at the changes that it will make to the sandbox and the Crucible on Wednesday, April 6, at 11 AM Pacific Time.

The company is also saying that some rewards and other content will no longer be provided soon, and players who really want access to them should focus their efforts while they have time.

A full paid expansion for Destiny is also set to arrive before the end of the year.
