According to an official report that recently hit the Internet, several titles from cdv Software Entertainment's portfolio have been released for download and purchase through the Direct2Drive, IGN Entertainment's premiere digital retail store. Listed below are the first titles launching over the service, along with a few details on each, just so everyone knows what they're buying.

Tortuga: Two Treasures - Set in the Caribbean of the early 18th century, Tortuga - Two Treasures is an action adventure title brimming with Caribbean myth, legendary treasures and fearsome pirates. The game will challenge players to prove their mettle in swashbuckling, sword fighting and sailing as they seek revenge on the dreaded Blackbeard. Players will be setting sail as pirate captains in search of action, adventure and of course, treasure, says the game's description according to the official website.

DarkStar One - DarkStar One is an open-ended action/adventure title set in a huge universe populated by a variety of unique alien races. Players will take on the role of an intrepid young adventurer, Kayron Jarvis, as he explores space, upgrading and customizing his ship - the DarkStar One. The game's story, written by renowned German Fantasy and Science Fiction author Claudia Kern, will immerse players in a tale of action and intrigue as Kayron searches for answers surrounding the death of his father.

Pacific Storm - As cdv themselves describe it, Pacific Storm is an exciting new hybrid title that mixes strategic elements the action of an arcade title. RTS fans will enjoy classic strategy elements including resource management, unit and building construction and unit deployment, while action fans will be happy to take to the skies or seas as they directly control units in intense combat. It's like getting two fantastic WWII titles for the price of one!

"We are delighted to continue to expand our digital distribution offering through this strategic partnership with Direct2Drive," stated Mario Kroll, cdv Software Entertainment USA's Director of Marketing and PR. "This represents a significant step towards ensuring that our customers can continue to purchase and play our titles in ways most in-tune with their preferences."

The three games are now available from the Direct2Drive homepage and, according to the official announcement, through key digital distribution partners making content available via Direct2Drive's partnership program.
