BlackBerry's Android smartphone, the PRIV has just been improved with a few new features and tweaks, which are meant to further enhance the phone's productivity.

These new features come through updates to some Android applications that are exclusive to BlackBerry PRIV. The phone's Camera application has been improved with a new feature that will allow users to capture video in slow motion.

According to BlackBerry, the PRIV's camera will be able to capture video that's up to four times slower than the standard speed. The new Slow Motion feature is available through the camera's “More” button, and can capture at 120fps, which should play back easily at 30fps.

However, if you plan on using the new Slow Motion feature added in this update, then you should know that audio is not enabled at this time.

Furthermore, the Canadian company confirmed the Camera application inside the PRIV receive many general stability and performance improvements.

New cursor mode, delete a word with a single tap

But there's more, as BlackBerry announced that thanks to the new update for Keyboard, PRIV users will benefit from better predictive typing, accuracy, and control.

It looks like BlackBerry PRIV's prediction engine will now be able to process a user's email and social messages to understand better the user's typing style and provide a better experience.

Also, predictive typing will now be able to learn words with numbers, and users will have the option to enable the keyboard to suggest names from a user's contacts while writing a new email.

BlackBerry also added a “Fine Cursor Control” mode on the physical keyboard, which includes an enhanced cursor locator along with on-screen arrows for easier positioning and control.

A new option that allows users to delete an entire word is now available by holding down “delete” for two seconds. You can also tap a key on the physical keyboard to have the focus cursor on the screen placed more accurately.
