Recent rumors surrounding the iPhone 8 stated that Apple could delay the release of its OLED smartphone to November at the latest. But a report quoted by Digitimes now says that production is on schedule and the new iPhone will launch in September.

Speculation surrounding the iPhone 8 revealed that Apple could even preview the new smartphone next month, announce it during its keynote in September and release the phone several weeks after the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, perhaps in November.

However, a new report reveals that the iPhone 8 launch is on schedule and it will follow the same timeline as Apple’s other releases. Specifically, the iPhone 8 will be unveiled in September and sales should begin in October.

iPhone 8 parts suppliers are ready to ramp up production

It seems that Apple’s iPhone suppliers aren’t facing any production delays, as it was previously thought, and some are even ready to ramp up production. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and battery supplier Simplo Technology are ready to increase production this June, preparing for the smartphone to be released in October.

June 10 will be a big day for TSMC, as the company will prepare to produce wafer starts that are needed for A11 processors and deliver the chips in the second half of July. Other third-party suppliers are also on schedule with the production of parts needed for the new OLED iPhone.

Moreover, assemblers like Foxconn, Winstron and Pegatron are recruiting and training new workers in China, preparing to assemble the parts created by suppliers and thus mass produce the new iPhone.

The iPhone 8 is expected to feature a new 5.8-inch OLED display, while the device’s physical size will be similar to that of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7. The bezels will be smaller and the physical home button has been removed to make way for more display space. In addition, the phone is expected to come with stainless steel sides and a glass back, aside from waterproof features, wireless inductive charging, vertical dual-camera setup on the back, and 3D sensing front camera.
