14 DAY TRIAL // There have been many rumors regarding the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Samsung smartphones, but none has been confirmed by the South Korean company.
Today, a new document that contains up-to-date information on the upcoming release of Marshmallow upgrade for several Samsung smartphones leaked online via MobiPicker.
However, the information published by the cited source might not be real since Samsung doesn't usually use these types of documents through its internal channels.
Naturally, the only entity that can confirm the accuracy of these details is Samsung, but the handset maker is well-known for not providing information on upcoming software updates.
According to this document, the first smartphone to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The phablet is expected to get the upgrade in February, along with Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+.
Two other Samsung smartphones might be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in February or March: Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy S5, and Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note edge are expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates in March or April.
Android 6.0 has already been approved
All updates mentioned in the document have been approved by Samsung, so carriers will now be the only ones that might still want to test Android 6.0 Marshmallow for these smartphones.
Samsung is among the last companies that did not release any Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for its smartphones.
By the time the update arrives for some high-end devices, the South Korean company might have already unveiled its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7, which will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
Even if the release dates mentioned in this document aren't accurate, we sincerely hope that Samsung will upgrade some of its smartphones to Marshmallow sooner rather than later.
