Until now, users who wanted to drive more than two displays at the same time from a single graphics card had to go for an AMD Radeon GPU as Nvidia's cards were limited at a maximum of two displays.

However, soon this won't be the case anymore as Zotac has developed a special GTX 560 Ti version that can display images on up to five displays simultaneously.

The card was showcased during the CeBIT 2011 fair, which takes place right now in Hannover, Germany, and packs a dual-link DVI connector as well as four HDMI 1.4 ports.

As ComputerBase explains, in order to achieve this feat, the card renders the image at a significantly higher resolution than that configured in Windows or in the game settings.

The resulting image is then split into as many pieces as monitors are connected by a special chip which also drives the five graphics ports installed.

Although everything sounds pretty nice in theory, it's hard to say how effective Zotac's method actually is in practice as it all depends on the drivers used for the card.

In addition, the GTX 560 Ti is not powerful enough to drive a six-monitor setup in today's games, so users could be limited to playing older titles that don't always carry support for high widescreen resolutions, as AMD's Eyefinity technology proved.

Right now, it still isn't certain if the final version of the GTX 560 Ti Multiview will carry the same video output configuration as the version showcased at the fair.

What we do now, however, is that the card is supposed to launch the next month and that it will come bundled with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Specs wise, this is just a regular GTX 560 Ti that features 384 CUDA cores as well as 1GB of GDDR5 video buffer.
