Judge Debra Nelson is set to rule on whether or not the defense in the George Zimmerman murder trial will be allowed to introduce evidence of Trayvon Martin's interest in buying a gun.

The defense brought in computer expert Richard Connor, who read out texts found on the victim's home phone in a session attended only by Nelson.

According to The Ledger, it showed evidence of fights that Martin had been in and documented a gun transaction. However, the prosecution has dubbed the texts prejudicial and they want them excluded from the trial.

Should Nelson dub the evidence admissible in court, it could sway the jury towards acquitting Zimmerman in the alleged self-defense murder.

The defense previously brought proof that Martin had THC in his system on the night he was killed.
