Capcom gives you the chance to become a star

There are lots of Street Fighter fans all over the world and, in order to thank them for their love (or just to do a pretty funny thing), Capcom has decided to hold a contest which, should you win it, will have your face featured in the game as a background character (sorry for those who were hoping to replace Vega). Well... it is still a great thing, right?

In order to try your luck and get your face posted in Street Fighter IV, you have to be quick: the deadline for the contest is the 18th of June. Yes, this means that you only have two days to do everything (yes, there is more to do than just sending a picture of your face, as Capcom explains):

"What do you have to do to snag a spot in Street Fighter history? You send us... whatever (pictures, video, dissertation, limerick, daguerreotype, singing telegram) explaining why you should be in Street Fighter IV. Your reasons can be good or bad, great or small - doesn't matter. Champion player? World's biggest collector? Cosplayer supreme? Anonymous, undistinguished weirdo looking for the limelight? All are welcome to make their case."

Of course, a high-res photo of your face should also be sent to an email address you can find here. In addition to your explanation of why we should have your face in the game, you should insert your name, age, phone number, and email address. The next thing you will have to do is hope for the best and keep your fingers crossed.

And, strange thing or not, this "send us a picture to star in our game" thing is used by more and more game developers nowadays: Cities XL and Fable 2 are just two of the most recent examples of games which will feature their fans' faces. Hopefully, it will become a practice in the future. This way, everybody will get the chance to become famous. (Or sort of...)
