After updating the iOS and Blackberry version of YouMail, the developer behind the popular visual voicemail manager has recently announced that it has released a new iteration for Android devices.

YouMail Visual Voicemail 1.9 brings lots of bug fixes to deal with the force close issues, several new features, as well as a revamp of the interface.

The latest version of the application makes YouMail’s interface more smooth and responsive and adds two major features that completely transform the experience for Android users.

With the new “In-App Community Greetings” feature users will be able to easily browse, search, and add to app's growing set of tens of thousands of user-provided greetings all from within the application itself.

Another interesting feature newly introduced is called “Number Search” and allows users to make one click searches.

Basically, the application now includes mobile search, so that users can quickly find out exactly who is leaving their messages and whether or not they should be blocked forever.

This can be easily done within the application by selecting the new magnifying glass on the voicemail playing page to search for more info on the caller’s phone number, or select the city or state of the caller to see a map of that location.

With YouMail Visual Voicemail users can scroll and play voice messages on any Android device, including phones, tablets or computers.

In addition, users can share important voicemail easily, and save it neatly organized in folders, or block annoying callers from leaving voicemail.

According to YouMail, the application is compatible with most US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, but does not support flex/pre-pay accounts.

YouMail Visual Voicemail Plus is now available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 or newer.
