Yahoo! announced the launch of its mobile display advertising platform on its Yahoo! Mobile Web service in 19 countries across Europe, Asia and Americas; enabling advertisers to reach consumers around the globe on their mobile phones.

Major global advertisers including Hilton's Embassy Suites, Infiniti, Intel, Nissan, Pepsi, Procter & Gamble Asia Pacific and Singapore Airlines have launched the inaugural mobile advertising campaigns on this new platform. The advertisements run near the top of the Yahoo! Mobile Web home page, allowing consumers that click on these interactive ads to directly call the advertiser or to learn more information about the advertiser's offer.

"Yahoo!'s clear leadership in Internet display advertising combined with the global reach and popularity of our mobile services makes it natural that top advertisers are coming to us to go mobile," said Steve Boom, senior vice president, mobile and broadband, Yahoo!. "Only Yahoo! can offer the world's biggest advertisers the ability to work with one trusted partner to reach a targeted audience of engaged consumers on both their PC and mobile phone."

Yahoo! has started search advertisements trials in the U.S. and U.K. in October 2006. In November 2006, Vodafone named Yahoo! its exclusive display advertising partner in the U.K. The same month, Yahoo! launched the first display ads on the company's Mobile Web service in the U.S.

Yahoo!'s Mobile Web service is available on most mobile phones across major mobile operators around the world. The company also unveiled a streamlined Mobile Web homepage that makes it easier for consumers to search, check their email, send instant messages, stay current on breaking news, catch up on sports and more. The new advertising platform and home page is live on the Yahoo! Mobile Web service in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, United Kingdom and Vietnam.
