Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10, the first mobile phone the company launched on the market with Google's Android operating system on board, is expected to make an appearance on the market in the UK sometime at the end of next month, according to online retailer Play.com. The company has the phone listed on their website as available starting with March 29, which means that it will arrive sooner than at Vodafone UK, the carrier that already unveiled plans to launch the phone in April.

[ADMARk=1]Moreover, the online retailer also unveiled a price tag for the Xperia X10, which seems to be set to land unlocked at £499.99, which is around $781 USD. The price might seem pretty high, indeed, but this is a SIM free device in the end, and one will be able to use it with the carrier one pleases. Not to mention the high-end features the Xperia X10 packs inside, even if devices similar in power and capabilities go for less than that. However, the price tag and the inclusion of Android 1.6 with the device might make it less appealing that one would expect.

“Building on Sony Ericsson’s entertainment heritage and combining rich graphics with intelligence capabilities, the XPERIA X10 introduces a new UX platform that will evolve across the product portfolio and expand over time continuously introducing new features and capabilities,” the retailer says about the phone. Most of you might already know that the handset will land with two solutions developed by Sony Ericsson itself, including Timescape and Mediascape, which are expected to greatly enhance the user experience one will receive from Xperia X10.

In case there are some who missed any details on the phone until now, we should mention that it will arrive with a 4-inch touchscreen display that will make the Android 1.6 OS and Sony Ericsson's UI look great, with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, enhanced with Geo Tagging, face and smile detection, with various Google services, including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, or with 1GB internal memory, which is coupled with a memory card slot for expanded storage space.
