One of the developers currently working on the Oddworld franchise says that the Xbox 720 console that Microsoft is set to soon reveal needs to make it easier for small teams to publish their video games in order to attract a wider audience.

Stewart Gilray, managing director at Just Add Water, tells The Official Xbox Magazine that “The industry is moving digital, so Microsoft has to grow up and evolve with that I think.”

The team wants to have control over its own titles and says that it will happily create video games for all next-generation devices as long as the publishing process drops the current rules.

Microsoft is expected to reveal the Xbox 720 on May 21, and the company has not yet offered any hints about its future support for indie titles.
