14 DAY TRIAL // With several hours ahead of the official event press where Lava Mobiles is expected to unveil the XOLO X1000 Intel-based smartphone, we have full details on the upcoming device.
The folks over at AndroidOS have been able to get their hands on XOLO X1000’s specs sheet and even managed to score a press render of the phone.
According to previous rumors, XOLO X1000 will not be equipped with Intel’s latest Clover Trail+ chipset, instead the handset maker opted for the standard Intel Atom Z2480 processor clocked at 2GHz.
Even though the 2GHz processor is still great, it’s a bit disappointing given the fact that initial rumors claimed the device might come with an even more powerful CPU.
There is more bad news as XOLO X1000 is said to ship with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, which is a bit odd to say the least.
Lava’s high-end smartphone will also boast a vibrant 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and 314ppi. Word is the phone’s display is manufactured by Sharp, but we don’t have a confirmation yet.
Aside from the 2GHz Intel Atom Z2480 processor with Hyper Threading, the smartphone will also come equipped with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processor and 1GB of RAM.
On the inside, XOLO X1000 will pack 8GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
XOLO X1000 has an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
The phone is only 9.1mm thin and weighs 140g (battery included). Other highlight of the XOLO X1000 include Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, microUSB and 1900 mAh Li-Ion battery.
No word on availability and pricing options yet, but Lava will officially launch the XOLO X1000 in India in a few hours so stay tuned for more updates.
