The HTC Artemis, also known as the Xda Orbit through O2 has been previously launched in Germany and is now also being made available to O2's Irish customers. The PDA offers built-in GPS, a built-in camera and several other nice features. While the XDA Orbit available through O2 Germany uses TomTom for navigation, O2 Ireland has cooperated with ALK Technologies.

The CoPilot Live navigation software comes on a memory card and includes complete maps of Ireland and the UK. The user will get detailed routes that are calculated within seconds, turn-by-turn directions both on-screen and spoken to wherever he/she needs to go and the ability to choose between various map views including 'itinerary', 'where am I' and others. CoPilot will also come up with another route just as fast in case the driver misses a turn.

Billy D'Arcy, Head of Business Sales & Services, O2 Ireland, said "The new O2 Xda Orbit provides our customers with a truly mobile office that offers the latest product innovations, both in terms of satellite navigation and O2 Xda software. Our partnership with ALK Technologies to bundle the CoPilot Live sat nav software is an important development for our customers and will give them the ultimate navigation experience directing them to their chosen destination quickly and safely. With its slim features and lightweight design, the O2 Xda Orbit is the perfect compact device for both business and leisure users, and adds to our already strong portfolio of Xda devices."

Running Windows Mobile 5.0, the Xda Orbit features a 2.0 megapixel camera, Mp3 player, WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity as well as the whole set of applications for opening and editing Microsoft Office files. It also includes quad-band support, an FM Radio and will last for up to 200 hours on standby or 5 hours worth of talk time. Available exclusively through O2, the operator's customers will now be able to get the handset for 272 Euro ex VAT.
