Konami has just announced that the remastered X-Men Arcade title will be out next week on both the Xbox Live Arcade and on the PlayStation Network, but there are a few catches.

The high definition remake of the classic arcade game featuring the famous X-Men comic book heroes will appear on December 14, on the PlayStation Network, and on December 15 on the Xbox Live Arcade, in North America.

In Europe, however, things are a bit different, as it will appear on December 15 for the Xbox Live Arcade, but in February for the PlayStation Network.

Why the long delay? Konami didn't reveal anything, but perhaps this is a timed exclusive deal with Microsoft Europe.

X-Men Arcade will feature a lot of classic arcade traits, including six-player drop-in-drop-out co-operative gameplay, the ability to change the grueling difficulty and the ability to create custom match-ups between various characters from the X-Men universe.

Expect all of the great heroes and villains from the X-Men comic book series to be playable, from Wolverine to Cyclops or Magneto, and they will all be rendered in the same arcade visuals that made the original so successful.

X-Men Arcade will be available for purchase for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points, depending on your preferred platform, either the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Live Marketplace, respectively.

If you want to experience another great game with many of the cast from the X-Men, don't forget that Capcom will soon release the new Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of the Two Worlds, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, on February 15.

Activision is also preparing another game with the famous mutant team, called X-Men: Destiny, which might also appear next year.
