Wonder Woman is perhaps the most neglected superhero in Hollywood and, for once, it’s not even because fans have shown no interest in the story. For a variety of reasons, a Wonder Woman project never flew, but here’s a video showing how it could be done.

This Wonder Woman short film, with Rileah Vanderbilt as lead, was announced at Comic-Con San Diego 2013 by LA production company Rainfall Films and, since it was released online, has gathered over 2.7 million views (at the time of writing).

If you watch it, you can easily understand why.

“We spent the majority of 2013 working on this — the look, the feel, the aspects we most wanted to portray,” director Sam Balcomb says.

“It's a scant two and half minutes, but in the end, it's one hundred and fifty seconds of pure fantasy, where I get to consider the two sides of my favorite warrior: a crusader in man's world, and a paragon of virtue told through Greek mythology,” Balcomb says.

Just recently, there were at least two attempts to make a Wonder Woman TV show, one over at NBC and one at CW.

From the feel of this short film, Balcomb and his Wonder Woman would find a perfect home with a network like Starz, which gave us “Spartacus,” wouldn’t you say?
