How come nobody thought of this before?

Samsung has just had a patent approved for a mobile phone that also includes a Bluetooth headset in its case. The concept will surely prove to be highly useful, as having to carry around a separate device can be quite soliciting and make it prone to being easily lost.

Bluetooth headsets bring the great advantage that the user will not get tangled in wires and benefit from a greater amount of movement freedom even while on the phone. There is also one disadvantage that occurs while not using it. This is one incredibly small device and, thus, very easy to lose. It actually needs a separate box for carrying around easier.

What did Samsung think? If the Bluetooth headset could somehow be linked to the mobile phone after it is no longer needed for use, then it will stop being such a problem. That's exactly what their new patent looks to solve, by making the headset part of the phone's body.

The removable headset is mounted in a housing on the handset and is capable of Bluetooth connectivity when removed and acts as a receiving unit when mounted back in its place. The solution is so simple that it seems quite unusual that they have not thought of it until now.

The mobile phone in the patent's sketch is a clamshell one. How else, as Samsung alternates this form with the slider one in most of its devices. We have seen many patents from Samsung receiving approval until now but never actually being made real. This one has a really great potential, especially due to its simplicity and little efforts for being applied.

All other handset functions run perfectly, with no differences from a normal phone. Since the concept brings no drawbacks, Samsung should really consider using it. It's this type of innovative ideas that make some brands stand apart from others.
