Windows XP Running on PlayStation 3

Believe it or not, this is true! True, I tell you! A clever programmer succeeded in getting Windows XP to run on Sony's next-gen. He managed
to do that by using Linux/QEMU. This is a little bit ironic...using Linux to run XP.

But enough with the mindless blabbering, I have to inform you that the XP isn't all that compatible with the PS3 (surprise, surprise!). In fact, from what I can figure out watching a video on techblog.com, it runs slooooow, extremely slow. It runs so slow, that I first thought that something is wrong with my computer trying to watch the video. Maybe he should have tried Windows 98, Windows 95 or 3.1. I mean, a whole 2 minutes for the start menu to be ready is quite annoying.

I guess this is just the first step, because QEMU can run other operating systems as well. They could choose to try out the likes of OpenBSD, FreeBSD or even BeOS. Considering that this was accomplished in such a short time after the PS3 was released, who knows what mods or hacks will be developed later on.

With all of this Linux and Windows XP fuss, my mind is made up not to leave my beloved PC to any gaming console, although an Xbox 360 would be nice.
