We're almost there. To be more accurate, Windows Phone 7 is, since the new mobile operating system from Microsoft is expected to get an official launch as soon as Monday, October 11th, three days from now.

In all fairness, Microsoft did not make an official announcement on this as of yet, but the company did confirm that the new mobile platform would be launched next week, as previous reports on this suggested.

Moreover, it already started sending out invites to two press events set for that day, one in London and another in New York, both aimed at making the release of Windows Phone 7 on the market an official event.

The Redmond-based software giant already detailed these events on its website, and there is little doubt left on whether things would turn out this way or not, especially since rumors on the official launch of Windows Phone 7 seem to converge towards the same October 11th date.

Further more, users can already register to be informed via email on the actual release of Windows Phone 7 devices, as the Facebook page for Windows Phone UK reads:

Want to be the first to know when and where you can get your hands on a Windows Phone 7 in the UK? All you need to do is sign up here and we will send you an email as soon as it's available!

Ever since made official in February, Windows Phone 7 kept on coming to the front page, and most of the technical details regarding it were already unveiled to the world.

However, in case there are some who did not make proper acquaintance with the new mobile operating system, the video promo embedded at the bottom of this article (courtesy of mobilitydigest) should prove quite helpful.

The video below is three minutes long, and was designed so as to get enthusiasts through all that the new platform can offer, including gaming, social networking, apps, office features, and the like.

Take a look at the video to learn what would be coming our way before the end of this month, and, provided that you live in the UK, head over to the Windows Phone UK Facebook page to register for more info on when handsets would become available for purchase.
