Windows Phone 7, the new mobile operating system from Redmond-based Microsoft, is expected to become available on handsets sometime during next month, and Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has just confirmed that.

Previous rumors on the matter suggested that Microsoft would be considering making an official announcement on the availability of Windows Phone 7 on October 11, with the first devices expected to arrive on shelves about ten days later.

In case there were some of you doubting that things would go official next month, HTC's latest statement should make you change your mind.

HTC regional director responsible for North Africa and the Middle East, Kais Zribi, said recently that the company is set to launch it first Windows Phone 7 devices next month, Gulf News reports.

“We will be launching Windows Phone 7 handsets next month and we will be concentrating on Android and Windows segments,” Zribi said.

“So far we have launched six models and around five more models by end of the year.”

While having great plans on the Android area, the company is still committed to Microsoft's mobile OS.

Unfortunately, no specific details on the phones that HTC would bring to shelves with Windows Phone 7 on board emerged, though it shouldn't be too long before they are made official.

According to a recent article on WMPoweruser, HTC is expected to bring to the European market a number of three Windows Phone 7 devices, including the HTC Mozart, HTC Schubert and HTC Spark.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed for the time being but, based on the great deal of leaks we've seen lately on these devices, we can say that there are great chances that they would prove real in the end.

For the time being, little is known on what HTC plans when it comes to the availability or pricing of these devices, but more will be unveiled soon, so keep an eye on this space to learn the news.
