According to the latest news on the Internet, a new mobile phone running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system is expected to come to the market in the near future, namely the I-Mate 810. The handset has been spotted in the wild for the first time back in February, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and it seems that it is finally getting ready to hit the shelves.

[ADMARk=1]Those who haven't encountered the I-Mate 810 before should know that it presents itself as a rugged device that sports a slim form factor, measuring only 111mm x 66mm x 15.5mm. The phone packs a Marvell PXA310 processor at 624 Mhz, coupled with 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, as well as with 2GB NAND RAM.

The specification list of the new mobile phone also shows a 2.46-inch display that boasts a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, as well as support for 65k colors, along with a 2.0-megapixel photo snapper with fixed focus, AGPS, support for quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850/900/1800/1900) and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA (850/1900/2100) frequencies, and accelerometer.

In addition, the handset also includes a media player with support for AAC, AAC+, MP3, Midi, AMR, ASF, WAV, H.263, H.264, MPEG and WMV file formats, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR connectivity, UBS port, support for Microsoft ActiveSync, and Wi-Fi connectivity. At the same time, the device packs inside a 1200mAh battery that should offer up to 3.5 hours of talk time or more than 200 hours of standby time.

According to PocketPC Dubai, the I-Mate 810 should hit some retail stores in the country in July. For the time being, it seems that only local retail stores expected the phone to become available next month, yet there are no details regarding its availability on other markets as well. The price tag the rugged device will come with is also unknown at the moment.
