With the popularity enjoyed by Wii Sports, one of the first titles ever released for the Nintendo Wii, it may come as no surprise that the follow up videogame, Wii Sports Resort, which is set to be released later in the year, is the most wanted title by players who are using a Wii, according to data compiled by research firm OTX.

The survey, which also provided top 20 most wanted charts for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, was conducted during March and April and around 1,000 gamers were questioned on the titles that they were most eager to get.

Mario & Sonic and the Olympic Winter Games from SEGA is the second game in the chart, with Need For Speed Nitro, which is also set to arrive during fall, taking third spot.

The Wii version of Madden NFL 10 from EA Sports, which should offer a new visual style, very different from the realism of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, and Modern Warfare 2 make up the rest of the top five.

It's interesting to note that Modern Warfare 2 has not been confirmed as coming to the Nintendo Wii, yet gamers are still interested in playing it.

The rest of the top 20 looks as follows: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10; Punch-Out!!; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; EA Sports Active; X-Men Origins: Wolverine; Indiana Jones & the Staff of Kings; Boom Blox Bash Party; The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Bundle; The Beatles: Rock Band; NCAA Football 10; Ghostbusters: The Video Game; Tom Clancy's HAWX; Grand Slam Tennis; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen; Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

It's nice to see that most of the games on the list are published by Electronic Arts; it announced diverting more resources to Wii development. Other third-party publishers, like Activision, also have four titles in the top 20 most wanted videogames for the Nintendo Wii.
