Windows Vista, the most awaited Microsoft product ever developed by the company, is finally out, being celebrated in the entire world. As you probably know, this latest version of the operating system is regarded as the most secure and the safest edition of Windows with several applications meant to improve the protection of the program. Although the software giant tried to make it a powerful operating system from all points of view, most users were attracted by the Aero interface and by the ease of use provided by Vista’s functions.

So, on Monday, January 29 and the Windows Vista release date, Microsoft launched the operating system and the Office 2007 solution in more than 70 countries and 19 languages, being available in almost 39.000 stores from all around the world.

“Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 will transform the way people work and play”, said Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft. “Personal computers have become a key part of the daily lives of almost a billion people worldwide. Millions of consumers had a hand in helping us design, test and create the most exciting versions of Windows and Office we’ve ever released. Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 squarely address the needs and aspirations of people around the globe,” it is mentioned in a press release published on the official page of the company.

It looks like Microsoft’s chairman started a world tour to promote the recent released operating system, Bucharest representing one of the first cities to be visited by Bill Gates. I must say that I was quite amazed by the Vista celebration in the capital of Romania, the entire city being decorated with Windows Vista logos and Microsoft adverts.

On Tuesday, Microsoft announced an interesting decision that can be easily criticized by Google fans because the software giant prepares to launch a similar service with a product already designed by YouTube. Microsoft will publish all the football games commercials, allowing users to view and vote the most interesting advert, just like the YouTube service already announced to be released on February 4.

“The ads will be available on the sites shortly after they air on television on Sunday, Feb. 4. Fans can catch any ads they missed, re-watch their favorites, vote for their picks of best and worst, and see how the rest of America voted. In addition to the advertisements from the game, FOXSports.com on MSN will offer football fans a wealth of original video content from Miami every day leading up to Sunday’s game. Exclusive video interviews from Miami with a slew of current and former pro football stars will complement analysis from FOXSports.com’s Kevin Hench, John Czarnecki and Peter Schrager as they break down the key matchups and offer their championship predictions,” it is mentioned in a press release posted on Microsoft’s website.

Because Windows Vista is more than an operating system, the company started a market research and published its results on Wednesday. Microsoft sustained that the company expects to create up to 11.000 new jobs in Washington D.C. and to obtain $3.5 billion in profit.

“The greater Washington, D.C., area’s IT industry is expected to experience a significant financial impact as a result of the launch of the Windows Vista operating system. According to a research study recently completed by IDC and commissioned by Microsoft Corp., within the first year of the Windows Vista shipment, greater Washingtons IT industry will begin seeing considerable increases in new jobs and revenue. The studys findings indicate that Windows Vista will provide a foundation for the IT market, with more than 17 percent of total IT employment in greater Washington being related to Windows Vista. In addition, total Windows-related employment in the D.C. area is expected to jump by more than 11,000 new jobs,” Microsoft sustained in the research study.

As you might know, the software solutions created by Microsoft are one of the main targets for the software pirates, the company losing a huge amount of money every year because the counterfeited programs are delivered in the entire world. That’s why the software giant tries to create more powerful tools to protect its utilities but sometimes, this isn’t enough to eradicate software piracy. Because Microsoft wants to protect its application, the company helps authorities from all around the world arrest pirates and block the distribution of the counterfeited solution. Recently, Riverside County authorities arrested some of the most popular software pirates representing an important step for Microsoft’s efforts to provide well-protected tools.

“The Sheriff’s Department’s CATCH (Computer And Technology Crime High-Tech Response) Team should be congratulated for its professionalism and tenacity in the eight-month investigation that led to yesterday’s arrest. The Riverside team is one of five task forces in California charged with investigating high-tech crime, and Microsoft strongly supports the professional investigators working behind the scenes to stop fraudulent and illegal behavior. Their work has a direct impact on helping to protect consumers from counterfeit software and the risks associated with its use,” Microsoft mentioned in a press release posted on the official website on Thursday.

Very often, Microsoft is identified through its most known application, the Windows operating system being well known because the program is installed on computers from all around the world. Although Microsoft is one of the most important companies in the entire world, it represents more than a firm because a lot of activities from all domains are currently based on the software giant’s solutions. On Friday, the company announced a new solution, Intelligent Application Gateway that helps improve the performance of a network based platform.

“Microsoft Corp. today announced the general availability of Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007. IAG 2007 combines the secure sockets layer virtual private networking (SSL VPN) and Web application firewall product obtained in the acquisition of Whale Communications in July 2006, with the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server), integrated to provide a single, consolidated appliance for network perimeter defense, remote access, endpoint security management and application-layer protection,” Microsoft sustained in the announcement.
