Windows Vista is the latest operating system provided by the software giant that is meant to revolutionize our computer activities. It is regarded as the safest and most secure operating system of our time, but the company already identifies some tiny vulenrabilities. Although all the Internet users are waiting for the celebration of the Windows Vista release, it seems that the software giant is trying to attract customers in a different way.

That's why the company announced on Monday that MSN portal will provide soon a new type of entertainment content that will be based on comedy shows. "The Big Debate" will present two TV stars that will comment all the aspects of the celebrities' life, allowing users to view and download exciting movies directly from the MSN website.

"MSN today announced the availability of new entertainment content including a new MSN Originals series, "The Big Debate," produced by Reveille LLC. This content is resulting from the relationship MSN has with Reveille, a leading independent Hollywood production studio and distribution company that has produced groundbreaking critical and ratings hits including NBC's "The Office" and "The Biggest Loser," ABC's "Ugly Betty," FX Network's "30 Days," and MTV's "Parental Control," the giant said in a press release.

"We're committed to growing original content online like 'The Big Debate,' because we believe the ability to capture an immediacy and build a community dialogue is a part of the future of entertainment," said Ben Silverman, founder and CEO at Reveille. "We're able to realize a fresh content idea with 'The Big Debate' by first taking the rich information MSN has about consumers' news interests, and then pairing that with the possibilities for viewers to interact using the MSN platform," the same source reported.

On Tuesday, the new operating system developed by Microsoft, Windows Vista was the subject of an interesting research started by the company. Because it is one of the most expected products ever created by Microsoft, it is expected to bring huge earnings to the company and generate more than $7 billion for the New York IT industry. "New York's IT industry is expected to experience a significant financial impact as a result of the launch of the Windows Vista operating system. According to a research study recently completed by IDC and commissioned by Microsoft Corp., within the first year of the Windows Vista shipment, New York's IT industry will begin seeing considerable increases in new jobs and revenue. The study's findings indicate that Windows Vista will provide a foundation for the IT market, with more than 17 percent of total IT employment in New York related to Windows Vista. In addition, total Windows-related employment in New York is expected to jump by more than 16,000 new jobs," the giant said in the press release.

As you may know, Microsoft is one of the most affected companies when it comes to software piracy, because Windows - its operating system - is the most popular application in the entire world. The giant tried to stop piracy several times, developing even a special tool, Windows Genuine that is meant to validate the copy of the operating system directly on the company's website. So, it's clear that Microsoft did the research to view its potential revenue, but did the company also calculate the software piracy rate?

Nowadays, the most known online advertising platform is owned by Google, the search giant that developed AdSense as an application that can allow users to earn money with ease by placing some simple ads on their websites. A lot of companies are currently trying to develop new solutions to challenge Google's service, Microsoft being one of the most powerful potential competitors. On Wednesday, the company announced on the official website that the software giant aims to develop Microsoft AdCenter, an interesting application that will help users earn money on the Internet.

"Formed in 2006, Microsoft adCenter Labs combines the talents of more than 120 top researchers and engineers, all dedicated to developing cutting-edge new ways for consumers and advertisers to connect. These researchers work at Microsoft Corp. facilities in Redmond, Wash., and Beijing across a broad range of technology areas, including data mining, information retrieval, statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, auction theory, visual computing and digital media," the company said in a press release.

Windows Vista is regarded as the most secure operating system ever created by Microsoft, but many companies are already developing new solutions that are meant to make the application even safer. Currently, there are a lot of security programs available as a free beta, tools that can be also downloaded from Softpedia. That's why the giant announced on Thursday that many security companies already confirmed the plans to develop special solutions for Windows Vista. According to a press release published by the company, the list includes Kaspersky Labs, McAfee, Windows Live OneCare, Panda Software, Symantec and many other security firms.

"Microsoft Corp. today announced that leading security providers are committing to delivering fully tested and compatible versions of their consumer and small-business security solutions by Jan. 30, when the Windows Vista operating system becomes generally available on new PCs and in retail stores around the world. In addition, today many independent software vendors pledged to deliver a wide range of innovative applications and services designed to further enable safer online experiences for families and home users in time for the consumer launch," the company also mentioned.

On Friday, the company gave new details about the upcoming operating system Windows Vista, saying that the application will be also available for download using three new methods. As you probably know, in the past, Microsoft allowed only the purchase of the operating system, but it looks like the company now enables you to download or even update the current version of Windows to Vista. "Microsoft Corp. today detailed three new methods for customers looking to buy, upgrade or license multiple copies of Windows Vista, the new operating system that will be available worldwide on Jan. 30. Windows Anytime Upgrade, Windows Vista Family Discount and Windows Marketplace will provide customers with greater flexibility in obtaining the new operating system and will ensure they have the edition of Windows Vista that matches their needs," the software giant said.
