Fresh off marrying 33 couples at the 2014 Grammy Awards during Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Madonna’s performance, Queen Latifah is making headlines again, this time on her own.

The singer and actress kicked off the Super Bowl XLVIII at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Sunday night, with a gorgeous rendition of “America the Beautiful,” which you will also find embedded above.

She had some help from the New Jersey Youth Chorus but, as you can see for yourself, she would have probably sounded flawless on her own too.

Queen Latifah isn’t the only one to have impressed with the big game performance: soprano Renée Fleming sang the National Anthem and wowed the crowds, while Bruno Mars performed at the Halftime with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Hooligans.

All acts sang without a pre-recorded track, 100 percent live, which is an amazing feat if you consider the size of the venue and the weather conditions, and especially if you think of how many great performers prefer some “assistance” in this department.
