Just another strategy

Warhammer Online is one of the most exciting and successful gaming stories out there. Although nobody believed in the project, saying that Warhammer was best left alone in the RPG (Role Playing Game) format, the team at Mythic Entertainment decided to go online and create this very popular MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). Now it has over 750,000 paying subscribers and it is a serious contender for the leader of the MMORPG market, World of Warcraft.

One of its strong points is that it focuses on open world Realm versus Realm combat, putting players from the two opposing factions, the Order and Destruction, against each other.

This new option comes to make the popular PvP (Player versus Player) mode less important for gamers and attract them to a more heated battle. To further increase the popularity of the RvR mode, Mythic has just announced that it has doubled the amount of XP – experience gained from fighting in this game mode.

"With the addition of the new region-wide and RvR-wide chat channels we have seen a marked increase in Open RvR participation. In order to encourage this trend even further, we have made an additional adjustment to the experience awarded for killing enemy players in an Open RvR area. Previously we increased this amount by 50%. As of today, that bonus has been raised to 100%. With this change players killed in Open RvR will now be worth double the experience than those killed in scenarios!"

It's really nice to see that the developers of Warhammer are doing everything they can in order to promote this very well polished MMORPG. World of Warcraft is a hard game to beat, having over 10 million subscribers, but, steadily, WAR can make a considerable dent in its huge user base.
