Video game developer Wargaming.net has announced that it is working on a new MMO, called World of Warplanes, which will use flight combat action mechanics and will allow players to use some of the most iconic flying combat machines in the history of the world.

The developers are saying that World of Warplanes will deliver a wide array of powerful warbirds that are fully simulated, each with a unique set of characteristics in combat and with behaviors that need to be learned and controlled in order to unleash their entire effectivness.

World of Warplanes will allow gamers to use light, quick single engine fighters but players will also have access to heavy fighters used to protect bombers and to ground attack craft that pose a big threat to all ground based targets.

Those who are interested in the concept will be able to follow its development on the official site www.worldofwarplanes.com, where they will be able to see more information from the developers and to get early access to screenshots.

Victor Kislyi, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Wargaming.net, has stated when the announcement was made that, “We are thrilled with the launch of a website for World of Warplanes. We'll be gradually expanding and developing the website along with the growth of the game and its community.”

At the moment Wargaming.net is best known for running the MMO World Of Tanks, which allows gamers to use some of the best known combat vehicles of World War II and beyond to battle each other in arenas where skill and good vehicle choice are crucial for success.

The game is a pretty polished experience and apart from fighting off their enemies players need to manage their vehicles, upgrade them and make sure that they are well crewed.

World of Tanks has managed to get the Guinness World Record for the most players gaming at the same time on one server.
