One of the last Canadian carriers to get the Nexus S, WIND has just added the smartphone into its lineup. Since its launch back in December 2010, most operators in Canada have already picked the Nexus S.

The last on the list seems to be Bell Canada, which is expected to introduce the smartphone in the following weeks.

Starting this week, WIND customers can purchase the Nexus S for $525 without contract, but those who are using the carrier's WINDTab can score $100 off the smartphone's price.

Nexus S buyers are also eligible for 'free shipping' anywhere in Canada through Canada Post.

What's really interesting is the fact that WIND's Nexus S will be shipped with a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen instead of the inferior Super Clear LCD display.

Even though the carrier listed the Nexus S on its web store as carrying a Super AMOLED display, this hasn't been confirmed yet by any of the Canadian buyers.

The Nexus S is powered by a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread mobile platform.

One of the downsides of the smartphone is the lack of a microSD card slot, though the 16GB of internal memory and 512 MB RAM may seem enough for a standard user.

More interesting features include HSDPA, DLNA function, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, and social networking integration through Social Hubs.

It also packs a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and flash focus, as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video-calls.

The phone features a high capacity Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery which should provide up to 713 hours (428 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 14 hours (6 hours 40 minutes for 3G) of talk time.
