It seems that Vodafone users in the UK will be able to enjoy the newly unveiled HTC Magic mobile phone as soon as next month. The company already lists the handset on its site, and also states that it will become available starting April.

As many of you might already know, HTC Magic is the second Google Android platform-based smartphone made by HTC, after HTC Dream, which was launched on T-Mobile, and is known worldwide as G1. The new G2 device comes to the UK-based mobile phone operator exclusively, and will be available for users in the UK, Spain, Germany and France.

Although it says that Magic will come in April, Vodafone doesn't specify an exact launch date for the device. Until now, the company kept silent about the availability of the handset on its network, only announcing that it would be available for free “on various price plans.”

The specification list of HTC Magic shows that the handset will not sport a physical keyboard, but a trackball and a 3.2-inch touchscreen, which is able to provide a 320 x 480 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7201a processor and sports 192MB of memory, while including support for 900MHz and 2100MHz HSDPA 3G networks, with up to 7.2Mb/s download and 2Mb/s upload speeds, and GSM/GPRS/Edge bands.

The new smartphone also includes Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, Infrared, built-in GPS navigation capabilities, MP3 player, a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focus, photo sharing functionalities, video playback capabilities, Vodafone Mobile Internet, e-mail capabilities, instant messaging including Google Talk, POP3, IMAP, as well as a wide range of other features, among which we can count support for Google Mail, Google Maps and Google Search services. The device measures 113 x 55 x 13.65 mm.
