Virtua Fighter 5, the long awaited
installment from Sega, so the PS3 and Xbox 360, has its first comparison shots up on CB Games. The game looks fairly good on both versions...now let me correct that, quite good, but not as good as the E3 trailer said. As for differences between the two versions, well, let's just say that the two are anything but different.

Characters look the same, as you may have imagined already. In fact, they couldn't have looked different anyway; it's the same game we're talking here... I have to stay focused on this one! What does look different and better with the Xbox 360, is lip gloss lighting. Lip gloss!?

That's what CB Games' William Usher says...: "The first thing you might not be able to notice is the resolution. The PS3 definitely has an edge up on the competition. Then again, maybe the screenshots weren't taken while playing with the Elite utilizing HDMI. Anyway, on to a more obvious distinction: Lip gloss lighting."

OK, he's not really talking about what-women-use-to-drive-us-dumb-ole'-boys-crazy lip gloss, but lighting in the way lip gloss looks. And yes, the Xbox 360 does show off a bit of improved lighting and not just the characters, but everything else too.

So we have better lighting and higher resolution. Other than these two aspects, I can't see any significant differences whatsoever. Check them out yourself, maybe you can...
