Since leaving Infinity Ward and launching legal action against publisher Activision the ex-leaders of Infinity Ward have been unwilling to talk about their next video game project and or about the lawsuit but it seems that they are interested in talking about the biggest trends in the industry, from 3D to intellectual property ownership.

Speaking to Gamasutra Vince Zampella, who is now one of the leaders of Respawn Entertainment and was one of the co-founders of Infinity Ward, has stated, “In my opinion, the deal we had - had it been honored - was a great deal. But you need control. If you want people to be invested, you have to put something into it. It's an industry that demands that you put a lot of yourself into it; it's creative, it's driven by what you're going to put into it, the end product.”

He added, “So if you want people to be invested, who are putting their hearts and souls into it, they need to feel like it's protected, and what they do means something.”

His comments were made at the 3D Gaming Summit and the developers also talked about whether his new company will create a gaming experience which relies on three dimensions for major gameplay elements.

Zampella says that 3D is not a focus for the development team but that it is something that's interesting and will clearly become more important in the near future, when a new generation of video game consoles comes along with more processing power.

Respawn Entertainment not has a full team and is working with publisher Electronic Arts on a whole new game universe.

There's speculation that they are creating a science fiction powered first person shooter that will rely heavily on cooperative mechanics but no official announcements have been made although information about their project might arrive in 2012.
