A few days before the Mobile World Congress is getting ready to open its gates in Barcelona, ViewSonic, global provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions, announced the launch of its new Dual-SIM Android Smartphone, the V350.

The new mobile phone was designed to offer users the possibility to easily access both their work and personal life, the company notes, adding that it plans on showcasing it at the MWC 2011 show in Barcelona, Spain, on 14 February 2011.

The new ViewSonic V350 Smartphone comes to the market with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display and with Dual-SIM capabilities, while being powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

The handset was meant to offer people the possibility to use two network services at the same time, making it ideal for companies interested in offering their users a mobile device that would offer separate numbers and bills for both personal and business use.

Moreover, the feature can also prove great for travelers who would not need to carry two phones at the same time, but who need the flexibility that different pricing plans and networks offer when it comes to voice and data in various countries.

“Our V350 Smartphone is one of the most functional Dual-SIM phones on the market,” Derek Wright, Product Marketing Manager at ViewSonic Europe, commented on the announcement.

“With Android GMS for access to more than 200,000 Google applications, it has powerful multimedia capabilities and with both SIM cards active, you can place and receive calls on each at any time. The Dual-SIM proposition is compelling and will generate considerable market uptake this year..

The new mobile phone comes to the market with a HVGA capacitive touch, 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity options, assisted GPS navigation, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

With Android 2.2 Froyo on board, the smartphone would also offer access to the wide number of applications available for download via the Android Market, as well as to the various services that Google offers to Android users.
