Videotron customers rejoice as the carrier has just announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy S III on its airwaves.

The smartphone is expected to arrive on Videotron’s 4G network “in time for the summer.” Although there are no details on Galaxy S III’s availability, pricing options and specifications, there are speculations that point to a June release in North America.

The only thing that we’re still not sure of is the phone’s full specs sheet. Unlike the international variant of Galaxy S III, the North American version is likely to come with LTE support.

However, given the fact that the Exynos 4212 Quad chipset equipped inside the Galaxy S III does not feature LTE support, Samsung will have to replace it with another all-in-one solution, possibly manufactured by another company.

The rest of the features will probably remain the same, including a large 4.8-inch Super AMOLED (Pentile) capacitive touchscreen with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, which features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

There’s a high chance that Videotron will get the 16GB Galaxy S III model, as the 32GB and 64GB versions will be released a bit later.

In addition, the smartphone will come packed with 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

Software-wise, Galaxy S III will be delivered with a slew of innovative apps and services, such as S-Voice natural language commands and dictation, S Beam, Direct call, as well as Smart Stay eye tracking.

Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy S III owners will be provided with 50 GB of free cloud storage via Dropbox.

Videotron is thrilled to be releasing this exceptional handset for its customers, enhancing its device selection with the addition of a superior-quality phone,” said Marie Ginette Lepage, vice president, Product Development at Videotron.
