Video Games Are Good Enough for You to Get Married!

- Casual games lead to a non-casual happy end love story

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Usually, gamers are considered some nerds without a social life, friends and so on by those who don't play them. Also most of the people consider that video games and real life love
have nothing in common. Well, they do and we're not talking now about the quite a bunch of stories involving people meeting on the Internet and eventually getting married – that's already outdated and everybody knows it's no longer a big deal.

But games as a way to propose to your real girlfriend... well, that's something you don't get to see daily – and that's the reason why our story, involving gamer and blogger Bernie and his girlfriend Tammy, is such a great one. Of course, you need some skills in order to succeed and most of the girls would still prefer some of the classic, romantic, late-night on the beach proposals but, hey!, this is the games era, right?

Well, Bernie surely agrees, since he worked hard and created from scratch a version of Bejeweled, Tammy's favorite game, for the Nintendo DS. He made the game in such a way that, when the game hits a certain score, the screen clears and a (virtual) ring drops down. Tammy was amazed, as you can imagine, and Bernie was ready, showed her the real ring and his beloved one said "Yes!". And that is, my friends, just one of the reasons we love video games so much (or is it just a proof that we think about them 99% of the time?).

Anyway, you can check the screens below to see the recreation of the story and head up to Bernie's blog and congratulate the dude for such a sweet way of proposing. And if your actual girlfriend loves Bejeweled, too... well, you know who's the man who *might* help you. Until then, all we have to say is: Congratulations, Bernie and Tammy!

Also, we'd like to thank out reader Groom23m for sending us the story.
