Motorola has created a lot of buzz lately with the launch of its first mobile phone powered by Google's Android operating system, the Motorola Cliq, yet the company also made official another handset in the meantime, which passed rather unnoticed, namely the Motorola Entice W766, which is set to become available for purchase via Verizon starting with September 22.

The new device from Motorola has been spotted in the wild before, only that it had the name of Motorola Harmony W766, and sports a flip form factor, a simple one, yet with the ability to deliver “one touch access to your favorite functions.” The internal display of Entice W766 is 2.2 inches in size and can deliver a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, as well as support for 65K colors.

The specifications list of the fresh mobile phone shows CDMA 800/1900 1X/EVDO connectivity, as well as a 2-megapixel photo snapper that also sports video recording capabilities, a 2.5mm headset jack, Stereo Bluetooth, 35MB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot that allows for the available memory to be expanded to up to 8GB.

Other specs of the handset include a web browser, support for email and instant messaging, a music player, and support for Verizon's VZ Navigator. Motorola Entice W766's battery is capable of delivering up to 330 minutes of talk time, as well as up to 395 hours of standby time. The handset measures 3.8 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches and weighs 3.6 ounces.

It seems that the new Motorola Entice W766 is set to become available for purchase on Verizon's airwaves starting with September 22, with a price tag set at $39.99 upon the signing of a 2-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. According to Unwired View, the device might come to other carriers as well, such as Sprint, though it should feature another name.
