The Verizon Wireless Samsung Gleam mobile phone is something that people have been expecting for a long time. News of it soon hitting the US market under the name of this carrier have been going by for some time now. It was just the right time for an official release.

The clamshell comes in a stylish and practical design that manages to combine great looks with functional features. Its simple lines make it look more like a low-end device, capable of basic performances. It's a deceiving appearance that does Verizon Samsung Gleam no favor, as the device is more of a middle ranged one.

The phone has a 240 x 320 pixel, 262K TFT color internal display and 96 x 96 pixels, 65K TFT external display as well. This proves to be highly useful, for not having to flip the phone open for the time or the basic functions. At 98.5 x 48.5 x 13.9 mm, the handset proves to be highly compact and extremely easy to handle.

A special feature that it can bring is the bilingual English and Spanish user interface. Moreover, it also has up to 4 GB of expandable memory with microSD memory card slot. The phone also packs a 2 megapixel camera that will manage to take images of an average quality. Moreover, connectivity is also available through Bluetooth audio with stereo output, for listening to music the wireless way.

Verizon Gleam can also support a large number of services coming from this operator. This includes V CAST Music, which allows downloading songs over-the-air, as well as V CAST Video, for streaming video clips on news, sports, entertainment and many more.

Verizon Samsung Gleam will be available from now on in more than 2,300 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online, on the carrier's website. It will cost USD 150, after a USD50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
