A new version of NFL Mobile from Verizon Wireless is now available for Big Red's customers, the company recently announced. According to the carrier, the new software solution comes towards users with a new interface and with a new feel, while offering users the possibility to stay up to date on teams, players and happenings around the league in two manners. The new software solution should offer news, headlines, stats and scores all the way to Super Bowl XLV in North Texas in February 2011.

According to Verizon Wireless, the app also comes with live audio broadcasts, as well as with premium NFL video content via a V CAST Video subscription. What it can stream include: - NFL RedZone, the wildly-popular channel from NFL Network that airs live or near-live look-ins of every key play and touchdown from Sunday afternoon games - NFL Network, which airs seven days a week, 24 hours a day on a year-round basis and is the only network fully dedicated to the NFL and to football - NBC’s Sunday Night Football - NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football

The new mobile software solution can be easily downloaded on various smartphones on Verizon Wireless' airwaves. NFL Mobile is available via the Verizon Channel in the Android Market, while BlackBerry smartphone owners would just have to text “NFL” to 8915 to receive a link to the application. Existing NFL Mobile users would be prompted to download the new version as soon as they launch the application.

“There is no monthly subscription for NFL Mobile, and customers will have access to NFL Network and Video on Demand content at no additional charge through the end of August. Beginning Sept. 1, customers will need a V CAST Video subscription ($10 per month) to access and enjoy the premium video features of NFL Mobile. Usage of NFL Mobile will be charged according to each customer’s data package,” the carrier continued. All features of the app are available for those who downloaded until July 22 at no additional cost.
