Palm's webOS-based mobile phones have just become more appealing on Verizon Wireless' airwaves. The carrier recently slashed the price tags for both Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus and also added the Mobile Hotspot for free to the mix. The 3G Mobile Hotspot feature that Big Red had in place for those purchasing a webOS-based handset went down to $0, enabling users to enjoy broadband modem features with up to five devices.

“Customers who purchase or upgrade to a Palm Pre and Palm Pixi will get the Mobile Hotspot for free. Existing customers who already have the service will find charges on their next bill will be $0.00,” the mobile phone carrier stated, according to a recent article on Engadget. Compared to other offers available at the moment on the market, including some with tether-capable Verizon handsets, Palm's devices certainly seem much more appealing.

In addition, Big Red lowered the price tags for Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus to $49.99 and $29.99, respectively. Of course, both webOS mobile phones are available this way upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier, but one should also take into consideration the fact that they are included in the buy-one-get-one-free promotion.

The specifications list for each of the two handsets is meant to attract users too. Both include touchscreen displays, coupled with QWERTY keyboards (a sliding one for Pre Plus), Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, Wi–Fi (802.11 b/g) capabilities, HTML Web Browser, Instant Messaging for Google Talk and AOL, Email, Palm Synergy, as well as GPS receiver with support for VZ Navigator.

The Pre Plus sports a 3.1-inch display, 16GB of internal memory, 512 RAM and a 3-megapixel photo snapper with flash, while Pixi Plus includes 8GB of internal storage and 256 RAM, along with a 2-megapixel camera. The Palm Pre Plus is available on Verizon's website here, while the Palm Pixi Plus can be seen here.
